Horatio Hex was encountered by the rest of the group during one of their travel to a parallel universe. He was then brought back into the current world, where his technical skills prooved of use more than once. Never leaving his beloved laptop behind, he used it to "officialy" make Tim an adult, provide Hitoumi with money, clean Harold's credit card account, and so on.
During the course of his adventures, he discovered he was in fact born many centuries ago, one of the greatest creator of artifacts of his era, a member of the prestigious House Verditius. As he was about to create one of the most sought artifacts, his adversary managed to sabotate his work. The explosion sent him into a paradox realm created by the explosion, where his soul reincarnated constantly for centuries. Having lost all memories of these events, he was then discovered in a dimension where "normal" history had been twisted.
Unfortunately for him a former apprentice of his named Desmani discovered he had returned, and decided he had to be eliminated. Horatio managed to survive despite the physical and political attempts at getting rid of him.
Horatio was once captured by the Technocracy (along with Sky), and brainwashed. Turned into a spy, he was then released. Sky (who had managed to shake off his own brainwashing) succeeded in restoring his original personality, also uncovering more about Horatio's past in the process.
Recently, he started a computer servicing company to make a little money and practice his technical skills. The company was a huge hit in part because Johnatan Swift invested money and used his contacts to find contracts. His dream of financial stability almost came to an end because of supposed Syndicate interference with the lawyer of Mr. Swift (one of the contacts who made use of Horatio's technical know-how).
His magical style is eclectic; using both modern technology and ancients formulae from the Order, he can weave effects unpredectible to both modern day technical wizards and the more traditional magicians ("WHAT!! He inscribed the name of the Angel of Secrets on the hard-drive?").
Goals:
For now, Horatio's goal is to establish himself a normal life, studying the
mystical, technical and magical implications of modern technology and make sure his new
computer servicing company makes money.
